Understand ForgR
Connect an existing WordPress
Plug ForgR into your current WordPress blog to publish Marc's articles automatically, as drafts or live.
Who is it for?
If you already have a WordPress blog and do not want to create a new site, ForgR can connect to it and publish articles directly written by Marc. You keep your site, ForgR feeds it.
What you need
- Your WordPress site URL.
- Your WordPress username.
- A WordPress application password (different from your usual password). ForgR shows help to generate one in a few clicks from your WordPress profile.
The steps
Choose the I already have a WordPress path at the start, then:
- Idea: name, niche, language, audience, as for a hosted blog.
- WordPress: enter the URL, username and application password, then click Test connection. ForgR fetches your categories. Choose the default category and the publishing mode:
- Draft: articles arrive as drafts, you review them before publishing.
- Direct publish: articles go live automatically.
- Charter: tone, angle and first topics, as for a hosted blog.
- Launch: click Connect my WordPress.
After connecting
ForgR connects to your WordPress and Marc starts writing. If your site is temporarily unreachable, publishing is retried automatically, with nothing to do on your side.
Difference with a ForgR-hosted blog
In this mode, ForgR does not create a new site and does not manage your hosting: it publishes on yours. The domain and design steps therefore do not apply. For a brand-new blog hosted by ForgR, see Create your first blog.
